MAKE WAY FOR YOUTH PROJECT BENEFITS ALL

January 20, 2010

With the recent arrival of a new year (and a new decade as well!), many people will be re-evaluating their lives over the next few weeks. Some people will discover that they are already right where they want to be in their lives: they will realize that they have a job they are passionate about or that they live in a community they truly care about… others, however, may begin to re-think their career paths and plans, or even consider buying a new home or moving to a new town.

For those young people who, after some soul-searching, decide to make a big change in their lives this year – like finding a new job or deciding to move to a new location – Townshippers’ Association has a very special project to help them out: Make Way for YOUth.

BENEFITS FOR YOUTH

If you are a post-secondary graduate aged 18-35 who wants to learn about the career (and other) opportunities available to you in the Estrie region, the Make Way for YOUth project can help you! The personalized individual support services offered through Make Way for YOUth can inform you about the opportunities and services available in the Eastern Townships, helping you feel more confident about making this area your home.

Through individual support services, the Make Way for YOUth/Desjardins migration agent can work with you to develop a personalized plan for accomplishing your goals. At the same time, she can help connect you to opportunities and organizations in the Estrie so you can be more involved in your community. This, in turn, may help you create stronger bonds with your new co-workers, neighbours and friends and allow you to truly find your place in your milieu. What is the best part about this service? It is offered FREE of charge.

Are you simply looking for someone to proofread your CV before you send it out to a potential employer? Need help translating your CV or cover letter? Interested in finding out about some of the best job opportunities (in your field!) currently available in the Estrie? Need more information about the services or activities available in a specific Eastern Townships town? If so, contact Michelle Lepitre, your Make Way for YOUth/Desjardins migration agent, at 819-566-5717 (1-866-566-5717) or mwfy@townshippers.qc.ca. Help may be closer than you think!

It is true that all big life changes can be daunting, but some are especially so if you are a soon-to-be (or recent) post-secondary graduate searching for your first after-graduation job, or if you are a young parent or spouse trying to decide on the best place to settle with your young family… Oftentimes, just a helping hand or a little support can make a BIG difference. Knowing that there is someone you can count on to help you with all the little details you will be facing can make a difficult situation seem a whole lot easier. This kind of support is exactly what Make Way for YOUth is all about, so contact us today and let us help YOU!

BENEFITS FOR EMPLOYERS

If you are an employer in the Estrie region searching for qualified, bilingual (or primarily English-speaking) candidates to fill job openings in your company, Make Way for YOUth can help you!

The Make Way for YOUth/Desjardins migration agent is constantly on the look-out for interesting job opportunities, across all fields, to send to candidates who are interested in finding work in the Estrie region. Each week, she updates the Estrie English-speaking community pages on www.accrodesregions.qc.ca and prepares an e-bulletin in which she includes new job offers from this region that might interest subscribers. It is distributed to more than 120 young, post-secondary graduates across the province.

So what can Make Way for YOUth offer you? This project gives you a chance to advertise your job openings (for FREE!) on www.accrodesregions.qc.ca AND www.topportunity.ca. It also lets you browse a database of eligible and qualified young graduates who have already expressed an interest in living and working in the Estrie. One of them might just be right for your company.

Make Way for YOUth is an effective tool to help you, as an employer, advertise the great opportunities your company or organization has to offer youth. And it is at NO cost to you. At the same time, by supporting the Make Way for YOUth project and using its services, you will be helping and encouraging skilled, young graduates to make the Estrie region their home! For more information about what Make Way for YOUth can offer you, contact Michelle Lepitre, Make Way for YOUth/Desjardins Migration Agent, at 819-566-5717 (1-866-566-5717) or mwfy@townshippers.qc.ca.
