“ON THE MOVE” AT TOWNSHIPS EXPRESSIONS

Author Barbara Verity stopped by our Sherbrooke office last week bearing copies of her book, “On the move: An outdoor guide to the Eastern Townships.” Her timing was impeccable: we had only recently sold the last copy of the book. With “On the move” you will discover 17 locations in the Eastern Townships that provide abundant recreational opportunities for the outdoor enthusiast. Filled with engaging illustrations, historical anecdotes and beautiful photos of the region, “On the move” is perfect summer reading for those who want to explore all the natural splendour of these Eastern Townships. We are happy to announce we now have a number of autographed copies at the bargain price of only $10. Pick one up today as they will be ‘moving’ off our shelves.

Townships Expressions still has a few copies of Ross Murray's, “You're not Going to Eat that, are you?” Here is a collection of some of this beloved humorist's finest columns all in one place. We have even made special arrangements to get more autographed copies any day now. To reserve your copy or to learn more about Townships Expressions, contact Cathy Turner, Expressions Coordinator, at 819-566-5717 (1-866-566-5717) or by email at ct@townshippers.qc.ca

TOWNSHIPPERS’ IS ON THE AIR

Townshippers' Association is now on the airwaves in the Knowlton area. Catch us every Friday afternoon on Missisquoi Community Radio, CIDI 99.1 FM. Each week, we will feature interviews with health partners, present music and literature from Townships Expressions artists and provide regular updates on what’s new at the Association.

SHAZAM FEST GOES INTERGENERATIONAL

Shazam Fest is one of Quebec's unique summer festivals. A weekend-long outdoor festival, Shazam brings together diverse musical talents, circus-based performances and workshops, puppet shows and even a skateboarding competition all in a gorgeous natural setting. Shazam Fest has quickly gained a reputation as one of the most eclectic family-friendly events around, and it is now introducing an intergenerational element as well. Townshippers' Associations' Eric Akbar Manolson, coordinator of the With Respect to Elders project is working with Shazam co-founder, Ziv Przytyk to bring three musical groups who are part of the Association’s intergenerational project into the mix. To learn more about Shazam Fest go to www.shazamfest.com or call 819-580-4118. To learn more about Intergenerational events contact Eric Akbar Manolson at 819-566-5717 (1-866-566-5717) or by email at eam@townshippers.qc.ca.
