On Thursday, January 31, 2013, the musical performance “Honky Tonk Blue…The Night Patsy Met Hank” will interrupt its cross-provincial tour for an exclusive engagement at the Centre d’Art de Richmond, to benefit the Make Way for YOUth – Estrie (MWFY) project!

Written by Townships playwright Laura Teasdale, and performed to several sold-out venues, this stunning musical rewrites history, imaging a star-crossed meeting between a young Patsy Cline (played by Teasdale) just beginning her climb as the queen of country music and country’s broken king, Hank Williams, (played by Ralph Steiner), just days before his death.

The show also features some of the best instrumentalists from across the region including Sylvain Pouliot (Pedal steel guitar) Stéphanie Labbé (Fiddle) and Sébastien Saliceti (Bass).

Enjoy an evening of love, laughter and legendary music at the beautiful Centre d’Art de Richmond (1010 Rue Principale, Richmond) and help support an exciting Townships project!

MWFY; Bringing Youth to the Townships

Offered through Townshippers’ Association, MWFY is part of the part of the Place aux jeunes en région initiative to counter youth exodus and encourage qualified young, post-secondary students and/or graduates (ages 18-35) to migrate and settle in areas outside of Quebec’s large city centres.

The project fulfills this mission through a variety of activities such as free Discovery Days exploratory weekends, personalized and individual support services and free access to websites and bulletins with local job offers. For further information about MWFY, contact Jenny Ménard, Make Way for YOUth/ Desjardins Migration Agent, at mwfy@townshippers.qc.ca, or 819-566-5717 (toll-free: 1-866-566-5717).
