The Marguerite Knapp Building – Open doors for three days

Sherbrooke November 20, 2009

The annual open house for the nine non-profit organizations at the Dr. Marguerite Knapp Building, 257 Queen Street in Lennoxville will take a different shape this year. The doors will be open for three days!

We invite you to start off your Christmas season cheer by dropping in for coffee, cookies and warm apple cider on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, December 1-3, anytime between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m.

We hope you take an hour or two from your day to drop in and find out more about the community-based groups serving the English-speaking community in the Estrie and the Townships. A lively and entertaining slide show will introduce the services offered by the organizations in the building. Meet staff members working with the Appalachian Teachers’ Association, Lennoxville & District Women’s Centre, Literacy in Action, Mental Health Estrie, Quebec Anglophone Heritage Network, Townshippers’ Association, Townshippers’ Research & Cultural Foundation, Townships Sun and TRUSS.

The building will wear holiday decorations, music will be playing, friendly hosts will welcome you and warm cider will coddle you. All this, while you browse information about the groups in the building, and a wide selection of Townships books, CDs, cards, prints and calendars for sale. Feeling lucky? We have several door prizes including a print by Janna depicting an old fashioned Townships winter, a Christmas CD by Michael Goudreau and Taproot II, III and IV!

Join us for season’s greetings, lots of information and light refreshments. Come to 257 Queen St. in Sherbrooke (Lennoxville). The parking lot behind the building is accessible via Charlotte Street. For more information, please call 819-566-5717 (1-866-566-5717).
