Ingrid Marini, from the Bedford/St-Armand (Philipsburg) area, is to be Townshippers’ Association’s new executive director, announced the Association’s president, Michael van Lierop.

"Ms. Marini is an engaging and dynamic young Townshipper with considerable expertise in communications, human relations, and networking," noted van Lierop. "Passing seamlessly from English to French, she will provide an excellent bridge between our two linguistic communities and create an energetic young face for the Association that mirrors our youth engagement priorities."

After an orientation period, Marini takes the reins on June 7 from Rachel Garber, who is retiring after more than 10 years at Townshippers’ Association, first as assistant executive director, then as executive director.

The new executive director will be introduced at the Association’s annual general meeting on June 4 in Georgeville.

“Townshippers' Association is an organisation that is very well known in the English-speaking community, to which I proudly belong,” said Marini. “The opportunity to become involved with so many important community projects, and contribute to the well-being of the English-speaking minority from a hands-on perspective appealed to me immensely. It is with great honour that I accept this nomination.”
