NPI Networks

NPI Networks

The Eastern Townships Partners for Health & Social Services project consists of an Estrie Network and a Montérégie-East Network. Townshippers’ Association initiated these networks in 2004. The Community Health & Social Services Network (CHSSN) and Health Canada support them through the Quebec-wide Networking & Partnership Initiative (NPI).

Support through the NPI has enabled Townshippers’ Association to create positions of coordinators for the 2 networks. Currently, these coordinators are: Shannon Keenan and Debbie Bishop in the Estrie Network, Kate Murray and Lindsay Tuer in Montérégie-East Network.

What Do the Networks Do?

The Networks provide a forum for members to share information and tools with others whom they would not ordinarily meet. Members are then able to distribute information about new projects and services more widely to the English-speaking community.

They provide an opportunity for members to present issues of concern to the English-speaking population and to work together on solutions. These networks have been the springboard for community-wide initiatives such as the Caregivers Course offered by Emploi-Québec in the Montérégie-East and the Partenaires Brome-Missisquoi Partners for Educational Success at Massey-Vanier High School.

The Partners for Health and Social Services Networks are community-based networks that promote the improvement, development and accessibility of health and social services, based on the needs of the English-speaking communities in the Estrie and Montérégie-East regions.

Through collaborations between service providers, community organizers and individuals, the Networks aim to inform and empower the community.
