Young Townships Leader Award

DESCRIPTION:

Our young people are doing great things! Since 2005, the Young Townships Leader Award (YTL A) has served to highlight youth dynamism and involvement by celebrating young people who serve as role models to other youth as well as to adults. Help us encourage English-speaking youth to reach their full potential and become engaged in the community at large – culturally, socially and economically by nominating them for the YTLA (formerly known as Townships Leaders of Tomorrow Awards).

 

PRIZE:

One winner will be chosen to receive a beautifully framed certificate, as well as a $1,000 cash prize. The recipient will be honoured alongside recipients of the Outstanding Townshipper Awards as part of a special Opening Ceremonies of the 34th annual Townshippers’ Day celebration September 14, 2013.

 

 

ELIGIBILITY:

Candidates must be between the ages of 15 and 35 and have carried out actions or initiatives demonstrating leadership within the Townships English-speaking community over the past two years (Jan. 1, 2011 – Mar. 1, 2013). Nominators can NOT be members of the nominee’s immediate family.

The selection committee will evaluate eligible submissions in terms of: effort; impact on local community; objectives achieved.

 

DEADLINE:  4 p.m. Wednesday, July 31, 2013

 

PARTICIPATE:

To nominate a candidate, download and complete the 2013 YTLA nomination form along with a minimum of TWO supporting documents (list of achievements,letters of support, scrapbook, short video, etc.) and mail to: Young Townships Leader Award,  Townshippers’ Association,  100-257 Queen,  Sherbrooke QC, J1M 1K7 or fax to 819-566-0271.

Inspired by her own personal experiences beyond the classroom, Leah Davidson contacted Townshippers’ Association this summer to share her interest in creating an online directory that would help highly motivated local youth – from high school to CEGEP – discover amazing enrichment opportunities in the sciences and arts that are available to them.
